Downtown FAQ

Why are we starting a Liberty Downtown Campus? Simply put, because God said so. Pastor Josh has always felt a stir in his spirit to start a Liberty location in the heart of our city. And so when the Lord said now is the time, he obeyed with a simple YES. The heart of Liberty Culture is to love God and love people. With that in mind and our love for Pensacola, it was a no brainer to obey the soft whisper of the Lord and step out in faith. People Matter to God and to us and our heart is to serve our community with that in mind – leading people to the love of Jesus Christ regardless of where they find themselves in their walk in life.

Who will be the Liberty Church Downtown Pastor? Pastor Josh and Kristin will serve as the Pastors of both our Downtown and Blue Angel locations, leading the staff and vision of the church, including most of the Sunday teaching. This is possible as we are adjusting our Blue Angel Campus service times come August so that they can be at both locations every Sunday.

In addition to… We have brought on Pastor Todd Caroline who has been on staff with Liberty as our Youth and Young Adults Pastor. Todd’s new role who will be assisting Pastor Josh as our Downtown Community Pastor. (Jeff Wagner has been brought on to transition into our Blue Angel Campus Youth Pastor in place of Todd. Ben Kimsal has been hired to serve as our Creative Director and Worship Leader for our Downtown Campus and will oversee all aspects of worship. See a complete directory of our Liberty Downtown Team Here.

What will the service times be? We will meet every Sunday  at 10:15am for our service. We will have a mid-week weekly meeting every Wednesday from 6:30pm – 8:00pm as well as a once a month Sunday night gathering. Click Here For All Upcoming Events

What’s the children’s ministry like? At Liberty Church we believe that every child matters deeply to God. We believe that every child is full of potential and purpose and through Jesus all things are possible. Because of this, our desire is to partner with parents and communicate to every child the Good News of God’s love for them. Our Kids In Action Children’s Ministry, will include dynamic teaching and engaging activities. Ministry for ages 0-5th grade will be provided at every Sunday and Wednesday gathering. Our Crossover Students (agues 6th – 12th grade) will meet at various times TBD

Will there be “Small” Groups?  Absolutely. In times of need and times of fun, Liberty Church Groups are your source of friendship and support; by connecting you with God and each other in smaller environments that take place in the community. They are your key to developing connections with those who share your interests or people who are dealing with similar life issues. Our Liberty Downtown Groups will launch January 2017.

What are plans for outreach (local and global)? Liberty’s mission is to extend God’s love and hope to the world. One of the ways that is carried out is through our A1:8 Outreach/Mission ministry. A1:8 is taken from Acts 1:8 which says “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria; and to the ends of the earth”. In light of this, we are committed as a church to proclaim and demonstrate the good news of Jesus Christ both locally in our local communities and around the world. We do this through various initiatives from feeding the homeless to partnering with strategic missionaries and organizations worldwide.
